Jar Form

Inspired by traditional Chinese Ginger Jars these forms are new to the small works collection. Hand built, inscribed and glazed with vitreous slips and glazes, they have proved a pleasing form onto which Frances has applied her signature designs. All works are stamped with FP and the year of making.

The Bow design has been inscribed with a scalpel, washed with a black oxide and hand painted with vitreous slips and glazes in lavender, jade, and indigo. Made by Frances in her Edinburgh studio, every work has its own unique composition and dimensions. All works are stamped with FP and the year of making. 

Fired to earthenware temperatures the jars are not intended for use as functional objects.
