100 Acre Wood Fireplace

Commissioned by architects Denizen Works, the 100 Acre Wood Fireplace sits in the dining room of a unique family home in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.

The design utilises subtle movement in the random repeat of four simple tile motifs, gradually dispersing to a blank tile at the base of the fireplace. The moulded relief surfaces are dipped in a translucent grey crackle glaze, reflecting the ever shifting Scottish light flooding the room from the main window, looking out toward Loch Awe.

100 Acre Wood received the RIAS Laurence McIntosh Interiors Award 2023 and was shortlisted for RIAS House of The Year, The Manser Medal - AJ House of the Year, and RIBA House of the Year 2023.
